Hello readers! Have you ever wondered to yourself, “I want to turn my life around!”, or something along the lines of, “How can I become a better person?”… or something like that. I have wondered the same too, and I want to share with you the steps I take in order to become a better version of myself.

Before I start, I want to say that “no one is perfect”. Everyone is unique and has differences they should learn to embrace. But the thing is, sometimes unexpected and unwanted things happen in your life and you want to make some changes in it — and this is purely why you may wish to change your life around. And that thought is completely normal.

My life has gone through some drastic changes in these past few months ; and I wanted to know how to change some stuff in my day-to-day life in order to “move on” and live the ideal life I wanted to. Of course, there were (and are) obstacles and limitations (mainly because of my age) so I cannot achieve “The Ideal Life” just yet. But I can eat what I have now.

Below are a few steps that I have taken and am taking in order to become a better person:

1. Follow a Time Table

We have all procrastinated at least once in our lifetimes. Meanwhile there are people like me who procrastinate all the time. However, procrastination isn’t the only issue here. Another issue underlying here is ‘Time Management’. Have you ever encountered an issue where you need to do a certain task ‘A’, but are already doing task ‘B’ and when you finally finish it, you find out you no longer have time for doing task ‘A’. This is a time management issue. What you should do is maintain a time table for yourself. Write down your time frames, and what tasks you want to perform in that specific time frame. If possible, use an alarm clock.

2. Work Out

Yeah well, this was an inevitable one. Working out regularly proves to be one of the most important steps in creating a better person. It trains you physically and even mentally. If you have watched at least one “gains” channel on YouTube, you’d know how important working out is in order to make your mind and body more stable. However, if you cannot work out regularly, there is always an option to do it every once in a while, maybe twice or thrice a week. Do push-ups, pull up dumbbells around 50 times (20kgs). The goal here is to take small steps till you reach the heights.

3. Bath for a long time

Showering is a way to get your thoughts out. Not to the world, but somewhere unknown. Speaking from personal experience, when I get stressed out or annoyed about something ; or feel down or demotivated, I go and take a quick cold shower. It helps a lot in eliminating those thoughts that haunt me. There’s also the schedule of bathing for a long time. Well, you know what you should do while you bath. That thing also has its benefits, if you catch my drift. Cold showers are preferable over hot showers, but if you are too cold, a little heat doesn’t harm.

4. Use face-cleansing tools

If you have acne, pimples or similar, don’t worry. As a teenager, I have way too many ; so you’re not alone. Use facewashes, scrubs, and whatever there is in order to get a clean look. It gives you confidence and makes you look nicer. You can also use a mask if you think it’s hard to get rid of them or if you have too many.

5. Cycle a cycle

Go on cycling every once in a while. It will train up your leg muscles and make you more strong. You will also sweat a lot and you will lose fat. Go to tuition or work on cycles. It’s good for you as well as the environment. You can also look for nature as you go on a scenic route.

6. Maintain a diary

You don’t need to maintain a full fledged paragraph diary, but if you want to, then nobody’s stopping you. But I personally prefer a day-end-pointer diary, a “logger” you might say. It looks like this:

# First you must write a thought of the day you can find from the internet

# Next you must write new things or quotes you learnt today

# Next you must write three (at most four) things that you did in the day

It takes less time and is productive too.

I hope the above steps help you in achieving a little bit of physical and mental strength, and I hope if you take these steps little by little, you will achieve that ideal life you have imagined.
